After
just another bad weather, we wanted to plunge ourselves and have another
adventure because we feel like we needed to have fun again after months of
working. We are a bunch of young professionals looking for something dumb that
could satisfy our nature loving hearts without getting broke (Yes, that young,
dumb and broke thing). Just
a few towns away from Olongapo City, we decided to visit Lubong Nangoloan
Falls, most commonly heard as Anghalo Falls. Located at San Felipe in the
beautiful province of Zambales. We went last October 2, 2016. At approximately
7AM we are already in front of San Felipe Public Market. From here, we rode
tricycle for Php20.00 per head up to the point where the trek will start (it
took us about 20 minutes). We made an arrangement with the tricycle drivers who took us there to pick us again in the afternoon as an assurance since it seems that it’s hard to get a tricycle from there (we exchanged numbers).
At first, you won’t have a hint that such an astounding waterfall can be located here. All we see was rice fields. We were wondering the whole time if we were in the right place, and indeed we were. There were signage along the way, across the rice fields and cogon grasses pointing to the location of the waterfall. We took our time chitchatting while we are on our feet.
The trail was
easy-peasy and absolutely child friendly. Families with their little ones can
bond here.
At last! We reached the waterfalls. I was left in awe. It was a good thing that we went just after the bad weather. With a huge amount of falling water, it looks raging, but somehow soft and safe to swim under it.
The area was well shaded by trees.
The falls have four levels, each boasting their own beauty and comes in different sizes.
We swam to our heart's content, and took only pictures as souvenirs.
We did had a great time. We had our lunch there and and we played with the water like toddlers.
